This session explores the regulators requirements where a principal firm has appointed representatives. It will focus on the regulators supervision expectations when recruiting an AR, ongoing oversight as well as the requirements when terminating an AR relationship.

We’ll look at examples of good practice as well as areas for improvement highlighted by the regulator. Likewise, examples of the policies and procedures that should be in place to ensure your ARs are supervised effectively. We will also explore how the FCA are currently supervising principal firms with ARs.

Finally, changes are on the horizon, we’ll look at the proposals from the Treasury and how this will impact on existing principal firms as well as firms looking to become principals in the future.
